When is the Da Lat Flower Festival 2026?
The opening ceremony is scheduled for 8 pm on December 19, 2026, at Lam Vien Square, the large public square on the shore of Xuan Huong Lake in central Da Lat. The closing ceremony and New Year 2027 arts show are planned for 8 pm on December 31, 2026, also at Lam Vien Square (provincial plan, in Vietnamese).
The two main ceremonies are on December 19 and 31. Some exhibitions begin earlier, while the flower displays are planned to continue until January 3, 2027. If you have seen January 5, 2027 as the end date elsewhere, that came from a draft published in May; the plan issued in June sets the closing for December 31, 2026.
What events are on this year?
The 11th edition has 11 main events and 25 side activities, 36 in total. The programme combines floral displays with live music, reflecting Da Lat’s status as a UNESCO Creative City of Music. The plan also asks organizers to favor flowers and plants grown in Lam Dong Province. Choose the events you want to see before booking, as exhibitions and performances run on different dates.

Source: the Lam Dong provincial plan, attached on the provincial investment and tourism promotion center’s page (June 15, 2026, in Vietnamese).
The plan already lists provisional dates and venues for many events. Check individual announcements for performance times, admission and ticketing. New announcements can be followed on the province’s Lamdongconnection site (in Vietnamese).
Side events in other wards and towns
If you are staying near Langbiang, check the dates of the pink grass festival, the bareback horse race and the rose festival before fitting them into your trip. Xuan Huong ward is preparing a hot air balloon festival and street art.
If you are combining Da Lat with Phan Thiet or Gia Nghia, check each town’s own event schedule before booking the next leg.

Where are the planned flower streets and displays?
This year the province is spreading flowers across streets, neighborhoods, schools and offices instead of one square. The two central wards are dressing up 16 streets: 6 in Lam Vien ward, with Nguyen Du Street as the centerpiece, and 10 in Xuan Huong ward. Under the plan, the displays run from December 18, 2026 to January 3, 2027, and the aim is to keep them after the festival ends.
- Around Xuan Huong Lake: Tran Quoc Toan Street, the lakeside road, is being decorated from the Da Lat Flower Garden along the shore. Near the Suong Nguyet Anh - Tran Quoc Toan slope there is a floral display area covering about 8,000 m², with roughly 30,000 pots of grass and a stage.
- Parks and the west side of the lake: Tran Hung Dao, Tran Quoc Toan and Yersin parks; the Le Dai Hanh - Ong Dao Bridge area, Nguyen Van Cu Street and the Bich Cau peninsula.
- Central streets: Ho Tung Mau, Tran Phu, 3 Thang 4, Le Hong Phong, Dinh Tien Hoang, Hung Vuong and the foot of Prenn Pass, with flower beds, flower columns and lighting.
- Gateways: the Trai Mat - Huynh Tan Phat roundabout and the D’ran Pass rest stop in Xuan Truong ward.
Xuan Huong ward expects its streets to be finished before December, so if you arrive before December 19 a few stretches may still be in progress. Beyond the main streets, the ward is asking over 90% of households to put at least one pot of flowers out front, in a campaign running to January 3, 2027.
To save your legs, walk the lake in sections rather than the whole loop at once. Try the Flower Garden - Tran Quoc Toan stretch in the morning, then the Ong Dao Bridge - Le Dai Hanh area near the market in the evening, when the lights are on and dinner is close by. The streets around the market are covered in our Da Lat night market guide.

How to watch the opening night at Lam Vien Square
The opening ceremony is planned for 8 pm on Saturday, December 19, and the plan says it will be broadcast live on VTV, so you can still watch it on television if you cannot get to the square.
- Check the audience areas and entry conditions first; if there is an open area, eat early and arrive before the start to find a suitable spot.
- Do not drive right up to the square: leave your vehicle at your hotel and walk, or take a ride-hailing car partway.
- In a group or with children, agree on a meeting point in case you get separated when the show ends.
- Keep your phone and wallet in a front pocket or a cross-body bag in the crowd.
Bring an extra layer for evening shows

Which days are busiest, and when should you go?
The stretch from opening to closing is only 13 days and overlaps both Christmas and New Year. The busiest windows are likely the opening weekend (December 19-20), Christmas Eve, and December 31 to January 3, because of the opening show, Christmas celebrations and New Year events.
For the flower streets, consider weekdays, December 21-23 or 28-30. For the orchid and fresh flower art exhibitions, go before their planned end around December 25; for jazz, check the December 25-27 schedule. The brocade festival is planned for December 22-23 at Lam Vien Square.
| You want | Go on | Keep in mind |
|---|---|---|
| The opening show | Stay overnight on December 19 for the opening. You can see the displays on December 20 and leave that day; add another night if you also want time on December 21. | Book rooms and transport as early as you can |
| The flower streets | Weekdays, December 21-23 or 28-30 | Stay into the evening to see the streets lit up |
| Orchid and fresh flower art exhibitions | Before December 25, the planned end | Tran Quoc Toan Park |
| Jazz | December 25-27 (planned) | Overlaps the Christmas weekend, so book early |
| Christmas Eve | Thursday, December 24 | The cathedral is busiest during evening Mass; see our Da Lat Cathedral guide |
| Closing night and New Year’s Eve | December 31, staying through January 1-3, 2027 | A three-day holiday follows, so book as early as for the opening |
| Cherry blossoms too | After New Year, with flexible dates | See the Da Lat flower season calendar |
For week-by-week weather (how dry, cold or sunny), see the which-week section of our December weather guide.

How to book a room for December 19-31
If you want to walk back after an evening show, choose accommodation within a comfortable walk of the venue. Confirm the total price and the cancellation and change terms by message before paying a deposit.
- Pick a location for the events you want: the opening, the brocade festival and the closing are at Lam Vien Square, and the jazz performances are on Xuan Huong Lake. If you are driving, ask your hotel about parking first.
- Keep the written confirmation: especially while event times can still change.
- Big groups: renting a whole house keeps everyone together; check how far it is from the center for the evenings with events. See our Da Lat homestays guide.
Central streets with budget rooms, year-end peak dates and 10 questions to ask before paying a deposit are in our cheap hotels in Da Lat city center guide.
Getting around, parking and road closures
Confirm your drop-off point with the bus operator once the 2026 traffic arrangements are announced. Plan on electric carts only once their route, stops and hours are confirmed. If you drive yourself, leaving the car at your hotel and walking means the least time looking for a space.
2024 note: that year’s traffic plan was announced on December 2, three days before the opening.

Getting to Da Lat: pass conditions, bus companies and holiday fares are in our Ho Chi Minh City to Da Lat guide; for flying into Lien Khuong Airport, see flights to Da Lat. At year’s end, buy your return ticket at the same time as your outbound one.
Before paying, check the events you want to see against your dates and the cancellation and change terms.
If you spot a change in the schedule, opening time or traffic plan, let us know and we will update this page.
