Flights to Da Lat: direct routes, fares, baggage and getting into town

Compare the total cost for the same travel date, including the baggage you need. When comparing two airlines, pick the same date and direction, add any baggage you have to buy and check the change and refund rules: the lower headline fare does not always mean the lower total. For Da Lat, that total has three parts: the fare, checked baggage and the ride from Lien Khuong to where you are staying.

Direct routes and where to search

Lien Khuong reopened on August 19, 2026 after runway and taxiway repairs (Tuoi Tre News).

Schedules vary by departure date. Pick a date on the airline’s site to see which flights are on sale.

Vietnam Airlines has route pages with a date search for Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat, Hanoi - Da Lat and Da Nang - Da Lat (in Vietnamese). Bamboo Airways and Pacific Airlines are also listed in the airport’s operating plan; check their booking sites for specific routes.

Scoot has announced plans for a Singapore - Da Lat route from January 25, 2027, and the province has asked for an earlier start (Tuoi Tre News, Sep 24, 2026). Check Scoot’s published schedule for your travel date; a proposed earlier launch is not a confirmed flight.

How long is the flight?

Vietnam Airlines lists about 1 hour for Ho Chi Minh City - Da Lat, about 1 hour 5 minutes from Da Nang and 1 hour 55 minutes from Hanoi. On top of that, allow for getting to the airport, check-in and the drive from Lien Khuong into town. How to compare the total cost

Step 1: compare dates and departure times

If your dates are flexible, compare the day you want to fly with a few days either side. Look at early-morning, daytime and late-evening flights, then add baggage and transfer costs to see which option works out cheaper. If you land late, check both how you will get to your accommodation and its check-in hours before you book: the drive into town is another 35-45 minutes over a mountain pass.

Step 2: check what baggage the fare includes

Vietnam Airlines’ domestic economy fare rules (in Vietnamese, checked Oct 4, 2026) say:

• The cabin bag and personal item must weigh no more than 10 kg combined; ATR72 services have a 7 kg cabin allowance.
• Economy Flex, Standard and Saver: one 23 kg checked bag.
• Economy Super Saver: no changes or refunds. It normally has no checked bag, but the fare rules list an exception for ATR72 services, which include one 23 kg checked bag.

The Can Tho - Da Lat route uses an ATR72, so the 7 kg cabin limit applies there. Other airlines publish their own rules, shown when you choose a fare type before payment.

Step 3: add the checked-baggage charge

Add the checked-baggage charge before comparing fares. Check the baggage charge during booking, as adding it later may have a different price. On Vietjet, choose a baggage option as you search to see the fee for your flight, then add it to the total before comparing airlines.

A “zero-dong” promotional fare excludes taxes and fees (VnExpress), so you still pay something. Compare the amount at checkout, not the advertised price.

Step 4: work out the airport transfer, then check your hotel’s change policy

Add the airport transfer cost shown below. Before booking, ask how late you can change your stay dates and what fees apply if your flight is rescheduled. Central areas are covered in cheap hotels in Da Lat city center.

Here are a few fares into Da Lat from the Vietnam Airlines site, with the travel date and the date we checked. They apply to those specific days, not to the route as a whole. Check the fare for your own travel dates before booking.

Vietnam Airlines notes that displayed fares are collected within the previous 48 hours. The table does not show which fare type each price belongs to, so check the baggage allowance when you select the fare.

Getting from Lien Khuong Airport into Da Lat

The airport is about 28 km from central Da Lat (VnExpress, Jun 15, 2026); Vietnam’s national tourism site puts it about 30 km south of town. By car it takes 35-45 minutes (Tuoi Tre, Jul 28, 2026), on the Lien Khuong - Prenn Expressway and then up Prenn Pass. Airport bus: ask at the airport information desk about the fare, schedule and drop-off point before you choose. From the drop-off you may still need a short taxi ride to your hotel; if you land late, ask about the last departure as well.

Connections, delays and the terminal

Fog can delay or cancel flights at Lien Khuong; two Vietjet departures were cancelled on the evening of January 2, 2025 (VnExpress). If you have an onward flight, do not plan the connection too tightly. Check the airline’s notices before you leave for the airport, and give a phone number and email you actually check when you book.

If there is no nonstop flight from your departure city, compare connections through Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi. If you fly from abroad into Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi and connect to Da Lat on separate tickets, allow time for immigration, baggage claim and checking in again. Vietnam Airlines suggests 3-4 hours for this; a delay on the first flight can still make you miss the second. Check visa rules and apply for an e-visa only on Vietnam’s official e-visa portal.

Since October 1, 2026, Lien Khuong has stopped most check-in and boarding announcements (CafeF, Oct 1, 2026). Check the departure screens regularly for your gate and boarding time.

When to fly into Cam Ranh and take the road up

Flying into Cam Ranh, the airport for Nha Trang, and going up by road makes sense in three cases: your city has no direct flight to Lien Khuong, the Lien Khuong flights on your date are sold out or expensive, or you want a few beach days in Nha Trang first.

The trade-off is a 3-4 hour drive, about VND150,000-250,000 by bus (Tuoi Tre News, May 24, 2025), over Khanh Le Pass. The pass is under repair until October 5, 2026, and the authorities advise against crossing it between 6 p.m. and 5 a.m. (VnExpress, Sep 13, 2026), so a morning landing in Cam Ranh lets you cross in daylight.
