Luxury hotels in Da Lat: French villas, lakeside resorts and how to choose

If you want to walk to the market and around town in the evening, check where each hotel sits around Xuan Huong Lake. If you stay by Tuyen Lam Lake, plan transport for the days you want to go into the center. This guide sorts luxury hotels in Da Lat by area and shows which hold an official 5-star rating.

Xuan Huong Lake outside the door, or pine forest by Tuyen Lam Lake? With high-end hotels in Da Lat, first decide which part of town suits your evenings, then check whether “5-star” on a booking site is an official rating.

Suggestions are based on facilities each hotel lists, checked October 17, 2026; the order of the table is not a quality ranking.

What does “5-star” mean in Da Lat, and where can you check?

Under Vietnam’s 2017 Tourism Law, star ratings are voluntary, and a hotel may only advertise stars once the authorities have recognized its rating (our budget hotel guide explains more).

To check for yourself, open the national accommodation database linked above the table (Vietnamese only), pick Lâm Đồng province and filter by rating. On October 17, 2026, the province, which now includes the former Binh Thuan coast, had nine five-star properties, five of them in Da Lat. Star counts on booking apps may be self-reported or assigned by the platform.

Note: the provincial tourism department’s own accommodation list dates from 2014, so it can’t be used to check hotels that opened later.

Hotels near the lake and railway station

Dalat Palace and Du Parc are worth considering if you want to walk around the lake. For Grand Mercure and MerPerle, check the route to the market and the square before choosing them for walkability. On event nights, lakeside traffic may be rerouted.

Dalat Palace and Du Parc: two French-era hotels

Dalat Palace, first called the Langbian Palace, opened in 1922. It is now known as Dalat Palace Heritage. Its official website (checked October 17, 2026) splits the 73 rooms into a classic wing of 43 and a modern wing of 30, each on two floors; the restaurant is Le Rabelais.

Du Parc, on the same street, dates from the 1930s and still has a cage elevator from that era (Thanh Nien, August 2, 2026). Its website lists 140 rooms on four floors and the Le Bistro restaurant, and notes the hotel was formerly the Novotel Dalat. At either hotel, ask which wing your room is in, whether it faces the lake and whether there are stairs from the lobby.

Grand Mercure Dalat: opened July 2026, near the station

Accor announced the opening of Grand Mercure Dalat in July 2026: 131 rooms in 12 French-style villa buildings around gardens, with an outdoor pool and a spa. Accor’s page (checked October 17, 2026) lists parking, the Deux Amants and BAO Eatery restaurants, and wheelchair access. It shows five stars, but the hotel was not yet in the national tourism database on that date, so its official rating needs to be confirmed.

Accor describes a walk of about 10 minutes to the old station area and about 10 more downhill to Xuan Huong Lake, which means uphill on the way back. With older relatives, ask which building your room is in and whether the path has steps. See also our Da Lat railway station guide.

MerPerle Dalat: a large hotel on Hung Vuong Street

MerPerle Dalat, at 01 Hung Vuong Street, is rated five stars in the database; its website lists 389 rooms. MerPerle has family rooms, a heated pool and conference and banquet spaces. When booking, check how many guests each room type allows and how you will get to the market area in the evening.

A project to watch: InterContinental Dalat. The resort is part of the HAUS Da Lat project at 1 Dinh Tien Hoang Street, overlooking Xuan Huong Lake. Sources published in 2025 said it was expected to open in 2027; the opening date and when it will take bookings need to be confirmed.

Who should consider a hillside villa stay?

Ana Mandara Villas Dalat sits on a pine-covered hill on Le Lai Street, west of the center. Its 17 villas were built between 1920 and 1938, each with 3 to 7 guest rooms (VnExpress, October 10, 2020). The official website (checked October 17, 2026) lists Le Petit Restaurant, a spa in Villa 14 and barbecue dinners in the villa gardens.

Rooms are spread across villas on a slope, so ask which villa yours is in, whether the walk to the restaurant is uphill, and, for groups, whether you can all stay in the same villa.

Ladalat, on the north side of town at 106A Mai Anh Dao Street, is rated five stars with 296 rooms. Its website places it on a hill facing the Valley of Love, with a spa and event halls. For a small wooden house with a garden for less, see our guide to Da Lat homestays.

Tuyen Lam Lake and Prenn resorts: how do you get around?

Edensee Lake, Terracotta and Swiss-Belresort are in the Tuyen Lam Lake (Hồ Tuyền Lâm) tourist area south of the city. Tea Resort Prenn is at the foot of Prenn Pass on Highway 20, on the way in from the airport. According to their official websites (checked October 17, 2026):

  • Edensee Lake: rooms in villas along the shore (Mimosa, for example, is 40 rooms in 20 villas), the Riesling and KuckKuck restaurants, and airport transfers.
  • Terracotta: a lakeside peninsula of over 17 hectares with hotel rooms and lakeside villas of 3 to 5 bedrooms.
  • Swiss-Belresort: next to an 18-hole golf course, with the Swiss-Café and Mimosa restaurants, a pool, a spa and family rooms.
  • Tea Resort Prenn: 85 units, including 39 villas facing a wave pool, plus a lazy river, a kids’ club, the Atiso restaurant and Prenn Waterfall on the grounds.

Plan for rides both ways. From the market it is about 8.4 km to Terracotta and about 11 km to Edensee; check the other resorts separately. Before booking, ask whether there is a shuttle into the center, when the last one leaves, whether it costs extra, and how late the on-site restaurant stays open. For taxis and Grab, see our Da Lat taxi and Grab guide.

Truc Lam Monastery and the cable-car station at that end of the route are nearby; see the Da Lat cable car guide.

When do luxury hotels in Da Lat get expensive, and when should you book?

Rates change with the date, room type and breakfast package. Check room types, cancellation terms and rates for your dates on the hotel’s official website.

If you are coming for a holiday or a big event, check availability early for your exact dates. Over Tet 2026, the Lunar New Year holiday, 3- to 5-star properties in Lâm Đồng ran at about 85-95% occupancy (Dan Tri, February 21, 2026).

Dates to book early in late 2026

  • November 6-8: the Vietnam Jazz Heritage Festival and the Lam Dong Trail race.
  • November 13-15: the Lang Biang International Music Festival in the city center.
  • Around Tuesday, November 24: the Vietnam Culture Day holiday; check your full stay dates if you plan to extend the break.
  • December 19-31: the 11th Da Lat Flower Festival, opening and closing in the evening at Lam Vien Square.

Full listings are in our Da Lat events in November and Da Lat Flower Festival guides.

What to ask before you pay

  • Does the rate include tax, service charge and breakfast?
  • Is there a compulsory dinner or party on public holidays, Christmas Eve or New Year’s Eve, and what does it cost?
  • What are the charges for a third adult, children or an extra bed?
  • What is the cancellation and date-change policy if the pass is closed by a landslide or your flight is canceled?
  • Is the airport or town shuttle free or charged?

To see how the room fits into your total budget, try our Da Lat trip cost calculator.

Choosing by type of trip

Coming for an event or the Flower Festival

Choosing a hotel close to your evening plans can reduce the need for taxis. Pick one within walking distance of Lam Vien Square, or ask where cars can drop off and pick up on days when roads are closed.

Families with small children or older relatives

Ask whether there is an elevator or only stairs, and how far the room is from the lobby; at villa estates and multi-building resorts, that walk can be long and sloped. For children, compare family facilities such as the kids’ club at Tea Resort Prenn or the family rooms at Swiss-Belresort.

Business trips, conferences, weddings

Ask about the number and size of meeting rooms; Accor’s page for Grand Mercure Dalat, for example, lists three, the largest 483 square meters. Coaches over 29 seats have been banned from the Hoa Binh quarter since March 2026, so ask where to park.

If this price bracket is beyond your budget, our guide to cheap hotels in Da Lat city center compares streets with rooms at a few hundred thousand dong a night.
