Binh Minh Oi Da Lat: a sunrise cafe near downtown with acoustic music at night

1. What is Binh Minh Oi Da Lat?#

Binh Minh Oi Da Lat is a coffee shop, not a homestay or farmstay, even though the name sometimes gets mixed up with lodging listings. Both its Facebook page and its Google Maps listing file it under “Coffee shop.” What makes it different is the opening time: the doors open at 4:30 a.m., long before most cafes in town, so you can sit down before the sun comes up.

According to the Da Lat destination database dalat.vn, the cafe opened for sunrise guests on October 15, 2022. Almost four years later it is clearly still running. On the morning of September 25, 2026 its Facebook page posted an invitation to that evening’s music night, and Google Maps lists it as operational with more than 5,300 reviews, up from about 3,087 in April 2025.

The name comes from the moment the sun clears the hills. In the evening, a small stage hosts acoustic sets. A CafeF feature from August 2024 grouped Binh Minh Oi with Da Lat’s live-music cafes such as Mây Lang Thang and Lululola, and advised checking the lineup in advance to catch a singer you like.

2. Binh Minh Oi Da Lat address and how to get there#

Binh Minh Oi Da Lat sits at 89 Hoang Hoa Tham Street. On July 1, 2025, Vietnam reorganized its local wards, and the old Ward 10 was merged with Wards 1, 2, 3 and 4 into Xuan Huong - Da Lat Ward, Dan Viet reported. That is why older articles say “Ward 10, Da Lat City” while Google Maps now says “Xuân Hương - Đà Lạt.” It is the same place.

On OpenStreetMap, Hoang Hoa Tham Street runs through the Da Loi (Trai Ham) area southeast of the center. By our measurement, the cafe’s map pin is about 3.2 km in a straight line from Da Lat Market. Several blogs put the ride at around 10 minutes by motorbike when the roads are empty.

Suggested route from the center

1. From Xuan Huong Lake, follow Ho Tung Mau Street, then Tran Hung Dao Street.
2. Turn onto Hung Vuong Street, heading toward Trai Mat.
3. Turn right onto Hoang Hoa Tham Street and look for number 89.

This is the route most blogs describe, and it matches our own older write-up from April 2025. Rather than typing the name into your phone, open the exact Google Maps pin: several places in Da Lat have similar names such as “Binh Minh” or “Cafe Binh Minh.”

3. Opening hours and sunrise times by season#

The cafe page and Google Maps agree: Binh Minh Oi Da Lat opens at 4:30 a.m. and closes at 10 p.m., seven days a week. The more useful question is when the sun actually rises, because it shifts through the year. We looked up times for the cafe’s exact coordinates on sunrise-sunset.org:

The last column is our own suggestion: get there about 20 minutes before first light so you have time to park, order and pick a seat. Many Google reviewers recommend arriving around 5 a.m. on weekends, because the tables facing the valley fill quickly. In early summer the sun rises so early that you basically need to be there when the doors open.

4. Can you go cloud hunting at Binh Minh Oi Da Lat?#

Sometimes, but set realistic expectations. Cloud hunting, or săn mây, is the Vietnamese pastime of getting up before dawn to watch clouds settle in the valleys. VnExpress (September 2022) says the best moment is just before sunrise, and that inside the city you usually see only mist and thin cloud. For a thick sea of clouds you need to head to higher hills on the outskirts.

VnExpress International profiled three of those hills in November 2024: Da Phu, Ngo Quyen and Thien Phuc Duc. In its misty-sunrise photo story, a local photographer reaches them by 5:30 a.m. and says chasing mist in Da Lat is easy because “you just need to wake up early.” Da Phu is about 10 km from the center, Thien Phuc Duc about 6 km.

Because Binh Minh Oi Da Lat is only a few kilometers from downtown, what you will typically see is fog drifting over the valley, pine hills and a sky changing color. After a rainy day the cloud can be thicker. Several Google reviewers note the setting is pleasant “even without the sea of clouds,” which tells you the clouds do not show up every morning.

When are clouds more likely?

CafeF (July 2023) says the rainy season, roughly April to late October, gives the best odds, usually between 5:30 and 6:30 a.m. October brings plenty of foggy mornings; our Da Lat weather in October guide has the details. The night before, check the live Da Lat forecast on our homepage.

5. The space: a multi-level wooden house facing the valley#

This section draws on Google Maps descriptions and blogs; we have not checked it in person. Wanderlog’s summary of Google data describes Binh Minh Oi Da Lat as a multi-level building with a range of seating styles, indoors and out, styled like an old wooden house with a warm, nostalgic feel.

Outdoor seats facing the hills

This is where everyone wants to be at sunrise. Blogs describe wooden chairs lined up toward the valley, with plants and flower pots in between. It is windy and cold here before dawn, so dress warmly and grab a seat by the railing if you want photos.

Indoors and the kitchen

Inside you will find wooden tables and warm yellow lighting, better for long stays on rainy days. A TikTok video posted by the cafe in February 2023 mentioned a food area on the B1 level serving meals from breakfast to dinner; in September 2026 the Facebook page still says it sells breakfast and evening food.

Much of this comes from blogs and older videos, so the layout may have changed. The quickest way to see the current setup is to scroll through recent guest photos on Google Maps or on the cafe’s Facebook page, which had roughly 590,000 followers in September 2026.

6. Acoustic nights#

Plenty of people come to Binh Minh Oi Da Lat for the evenings rather than the mornings. The cafe’s Facebook intro, as of September 2026, lists live acoustic music every night from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Older sources, including the cafe’s own TikTok in 2023 and several blogs, list only Monday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, so the schedule has likely changed over time.

On September 25, 2026, the page invited guests to a night with “music and fireworks” (our translation). We cannot tell whether fireworks are a regular thing or a one-off, so ask before you go if that is the draw.

How much is a music night?

Blogs including mia.vn (June 2026) and hoaxuongrong.vn (December 2025) put the music-night charge at about VND120,000 per person, including one drink. That is a common format for Da Lat music cafes, but we did not find an official price from the cafe, so confirm when you book.

A few Google reviews say the quality of singers varies from night to night, and some mention guests smoking in the outdoor area. If smoke bothers you, ask which section is non-smoking when you arrive.

7. Menu and prices by source#

Blogs describe the Binh Minh Oi Da Lat menu as coffee, tea, fruit tea, smoothies, juices, cocoa and pastries. Some reviewers mention salt coffee. In the morning there are light meals, and two dishes come up again and again: bánh ướt lòng gà (steamed rice sheets with chicken giblets) and bánh căn (small rice-flour pancakes with shrimp and pork). We could not find an official price list from the cafe or from the press, and the blogs do not agree. Here is what each source says, with dates, so you can see the range. Treat it as a guide, not today’s menu.

A safe budget is VND70,000-100,000 per person for a morning drink, plus breakfast if you order food. We found no source saying there is an entry fee in the morning, unlike many cloud-hunting cafes at Cau Dat. If you see different prices, let us know and we will update this page.

8. Binh Minh Oi Da Lat pros and cons#

This summary is based on public reviews on Google Maps (via Wanderlog) and Trip.com. A 4.5/5 score from more than 5,300 reviews, about 4,094 of them five stars, shows most guests leave happy. Still, around 370 one- and two-star reviews repeat similar complaints.

In short, Binh Minh Oi Da Lat suits travelers who want an easy sunrise close to town more than those chasing the perfect sea-of-clouds shot. If you are traveling with older relatives or kids, skipping a long pre-dawn ride is a real advantage.

9. Pairing it with nearby stops#

The ride to Binh Minh Oi Da Lat runs along Hung Vuong Street, an area full of wooden-house cafes and persimmon gardens. Here is one way to build a day around it; check opening hours on Google Maps first.

• 4:45-7:30 a.m. · Binh Minh Oi: sunrise, then breakfast with bánh căn or bánh ướt.
• Morning · Persimmon gardens on Hung Vuong (September to November): according to VnExpress (September 2025), Persimmon Cafe at 96 Hung Vuong and Nhà của Thông in alley 108 Hung Vuong are both set in persimmon orchards. More in our Da Lat dried persimmons guide.

10. How it compares with other sunrise options#

Da Lat has several ways to catch the sunrise. This table helps you match the place to what you want, with a source for each figure.

Binh Minh Oi Da Lat is the middle ground: no 3 a.m. alarm for a ride to the outskirts, yet you still get sunrise, mist and a warm seat. On a lucky morning you may even see cloud in the valley below. If you have only one morning and want a near-certain sea of clouds, prioritize Cau Dat or Da Phu instead.

11. Tips for visiting Binh Minh Oi Da Lat#

• Dress in layers: early mornings are much colder than the daytime, especially from December to February. Bring a jacket and scarf, and a light rain poncho in the rainy season.
• Set your alarm by season: use the sunrise table in section 3 and allow about 40 minutes for the ride and parking.
• Shoot into the light: expose for the sky to keep the colors, then lift the shadows on faces when editing. Skip the flash; it bothers the next table.
• Keep it quiet: many guests come to watch the sky in peace. Talk softly and do not hog a prime seat when it is crowded.
• Ask about the lineup: the Binh Minh Oi Da Lat music schedule differs between its page and older blogs, so message the cafe to confirm who is playing and the charge.

One more word on the ride: a few kilometers on a motorbike in the dark at 4 a.m. still demands full attention. Skip drinks the night before if you plan to ride. Ride-hailing apps work, but fewer drivers are online before dawn, so book early.
